#TRU02: Remote Control

The visionary VCs at True Ventures are in the business of spotting new industries. And in their latest mailing, they wrote of seeing a new trend emerging——literally——on the horizon…

"Drones, once a concept we rarely encountered outside of a military context, are suddenly everywhere. They are being used to film movies, to monitor farmers’ fields, and by geek hacker lobbyists. It’s been a long time since we’ve been this excited about an emerging technological industry."

Making good on their “rise of the drones” theme, the True team sent subscribers an incredibly fun remote control “mini-quadcopter,” plus an aerial photograph taken by a drone. They also included a special letter from Chris Anderson, former Wired E-I-C and the man behind 3D Robotics, a new addition to the True portfolio.
